The Seasons of the Witch, the “Wheel of the Year” Our 8 Sabbats

Come join us for a Magickally Enchanting Night

Candlemas, Imbolc, Imbolg, OIMELC

Come celebrate with us as we bring in New growth, end of winter, candle rituals of purification. Dedicated to the GODDESSES of Fire and Inspiration. GODDESS of Fertility, that which was born at SOLSTICE now begins to manifest. This is also the day of initiation, the RITE of passage for WITCHES. This is a time to plant the seeds of short term goals for the new cycle and new energy. The candle procession symbolizes the Feast of the Waxing light celebrating the Rebirth of the Sun.
As the days begin lengthening, we would light the candles as an act of magick to embrace the growing light and help it grow. Our candlelight would also help hasten the warming of the earth and awaken the Earth Mother and emphasize the reviving of life. Imbolc meant the spring was coming. When the breath of life begins to awaken the sleeping earth and craftwork, both magickal and mundane, is honored. The blessing of seeds, newborn lambs, and new life to come. “Imbolc” is from Old Irish, and may mean “in the belly”, and Oimelc, “ewe’s milk”, as this is the lambing time. Most of the deities so honored on this Sabbat are those whose primary domains are fertility, love, protection, and/or the hearth and fire. …

Because Imbolc is the signifier of coming fertility–and love, in any form, brings life.
Februum is a Latin word meaning purification — naming the month of cleansing. The thaw releases waters — all that was hindered is let flow at this season.
