Maintaining Clergy Status
THIS PAGE IS FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAS BEEN ORDAINED AS REVERENDS BY THE NYC WICCAN FAMILY TEMPLE.
As a formal religious non-profit 501(c)3, in the State of New York, we are required to inform you that anyone ordained by the NYC Wiccan Family Temple, is required by NYS law to be tethered to the temple in order to maintain your reverend status.
Tethering means either you are presently serving with the Temple or you are paying Tithe annually or monthly to the Temple to maintain your Reverend status.
Any ordained or licensed minister of any religious society or congregation within this state may perform marriages in all 50 States. — Before performing a marriage, ministers must present their ordination credentials to the probate judge or of any county clerks office. The judge or they will provide the minister with a license to perform marriages or simply state that they are legal to do so.
If you do not wish to maintain your reverend license with the NYC Wiccan Family Temple, you do not need to go any further and your reverend status with the Temple will be recorded as revoked and removed from the NYC County Clerk office.
If you wish to continue with your reverend status with the NYC Wiccan Family Temple, please fill out application below.
The following are the options available to remain tethered to the temple to prevent your license from being revoked:
- Be in service of the NYC Wiccan Family Temple Community, Serving by writing and performing of the Esbats and Sabbats as a member in good standing. Or
- Pay dues of $50.00 annually.
- Pay dues for 2 years $100.00.
