Applying at NYC Wiccan Family Temple to be a NYS & NYC State Licensed Ordained Reverend. We welcome all who may wish to apply to be a Reverend under a Wiccan or Witch Temple. As most of you know there are not many out there for us, even online applications are all done by Christian organizations. This ordination will actually be attained via a true Wiccan or Witch Temple with a 501c3 Church status.

Once ordained with us you will be able to perform ceremonies in all 50 States. ‘As any ordained or licensed minister of any religious society or congregation within this state may perform marriages in all 50 States. — Before performing a marriage, ministers must present their ordination credentials to the probate judge or of any county clerks office. The judge or they will provide the minister with a license to perform marriages or simply state that they are legal to do so’ as stated by New York City Clerks Office.

As a formal religious non-profit 501(c)3, in the State of New York, we are required to inform you that anyone ordained by the NYC Wiccan Family Temple, is required by NYS and City law to be tethered to the temple in order to maintain your reverend status.

Tethering means either you are presently serving with the Temple or you are paying Tithe annually or monthly to the Temple to maintain your Reverend status.

Once you have applied for and been accepted to be NYS & City Licensed Reverend with us, you must maintain your reverend license with the NYC Wiccan Family Temple annually or your License will be recorded as revoked and removed from the NYC County Clerk office.

The following are the requirements for application with the NYC Wicca Family Temple:

  • Complete the 4 years of Training and fulfilled all requirements: Testings, Sabbats, Esbats, Congregation Services, Psychological testing, Background check etc. with WFT Academy Of Pagan Studies and The NYC Wiccan Family Temple.
  • If not trained with WFT Academy of Pagan Studies:
    • General Exam and must have 90% passing grade.
    • Psychological Testing.
    • Background Check.
    • Personal Data Inventory.
    • Provide 3 professional character references.
    • Provide 3 personal character references.
    • Provide 2 peer references.
